Her: carbon in love with silicon

The film ‘Her’ is set in 2025. In it, the protagonist, Theodore, falls in love with an AI, Samantha. In real life, we have already become accustomed to interacting with machines. We may not be in love with them, but we do feel a certain fascination for them. How does this new relationship with AI affect our rights? Are we aware of everything that talking to a virtual assistant entails? Do we know how they work?

In this episode, Enrique Goñi, founder and president of the board of trustees of the Hermes Foundation, and Paloma Llaneza, lawyer, CEO of Razona Legaltech, and coordinator of the Foundation’s editorial committee, reflect on the importance of protecting our rights in the face of this new way of interacting with technology. Directed and presented by Txema Valenzuela.

“The algorithm that knew too much” is an initiative of the Digital Rights Observatory, promoted by the Hermes Foundation in collaboration with Red.es, an entity affiliated to the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration. It also has the backing of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan and NextGenerationEU funds.
